On Saturday, February 21, 2009, the Bloomington Police will be accepting expired and unused prescription and over the counter medications at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center. In addition, the police will be accepting controlled substances.

The drop off will occur from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m, inside the east entrance of Eastland Medical Plaza I.

Due to the rising popularity of prescription drug abuse, now, more than ever, it is important to take responsibility for properly disposing unused, unneeded or expired prescription drugs. This cause is not only critical in protecting the health of the environment, it’s critical in protecting the health of our children – the 2.1 million teens who abuse prescription drugs yearly.
